Great ideas were curated from the contributions of intellectuals & thought leaders on Twitter. We are yet to clarify the grey areas but hope for the best.
If we agree on anything, it will be that our next leader must be Competent, Composed, Conscientious, trustworthy, Capacious, have Character & Clarity (Perspicacity)
The question then remain how do we vaporize or convert these qualitative elements into measurable quantities without sentiments seeping in based on vested interests? From the look of things we may have close to 20 if not more Presidential aspirants in the wake of party primaries.
We also need to be mindful however that this is not as easy as fitting CEOs to established firms rooted in an ideal system. We are literally building a system anew along side picking a leader that identifies with that system we are yet to fully define. So common ground is key.
This will also determine how much we live our country and care for the future of our children enough to divorce our selves from our personal interest on this matter. What is important to me here the thinking behavior (ideology if you like) of our next President.
A few hints to what I’m personally looking out for & will be reviewing these aspirants on in a few weeks from now (in no particular order). The very first criteria is CLARITY. What is the vision of the aspirants? How elaborate is that vision? Any illustration?
ACCURACY: This thinking or ideal being proposed by the aspirants, do they have facts and research to back it up? Can we check the veracity? Can we test the hypothesis? How do we know this is true, visible or viable? (To avoid another false hope)
PRECISION: Are the thoughts being marketed by the aspirants Specific and Exact or Vague and Mendacious? (Affliction must never be repeated)
RELEVANCE: There is no point wasting precious time on the talk on building roads and feeding children. Are the thoughts/ideologies directly related to the central idea, problem or questions posed by the citizenry? Does it help? How?
DEPTH: No doubt based on the current trend, incompetent folks already feel eligible. So let’s ask our aspirants about the problems predicted by their thinking. What would they do if things go wrong? Have they looked ahead? Any identified threats to the idea?
BREADTH: To forestall parochial & provincial ideas slipping through the cracks, we must ask our aspirants if they have considered other points of view. Have you looked at your idea from another perspective?
LOGIC: How animated are the aspirants’ ideas or thinking? Have they shown their thinking in a way that make sense to others? Does all this make sense together? Does the thinking follow the evidence?
FAIRNESS: How aware are the aspirants of the implication of their thoughts on others? Do they ignore the facts that disagrees with their thinking? Is their purpose fair, based on facts or Opinions? Are they open to a Change of Mind?
SIGNIFICANCE: Are these thoughts important to the central idea that heals the Nation of its ills (Restructuring, Reforms, Unity, Infrastructure, Economy & Security) What is most critical? Is there a focus? Is it the most important?
I look forward to your thoughts and contribution. This for me sums up the foundational cum basic considerations. Since the constitution is silent on mental evaluation of political leaders. This might suffice. #2019Position
